Irrigation systems: pipes and types of sprinklers
Today we are going to deepen the irrigation systems, a fundamental issue for the good maintenance of lawns and flower beds in our garden.
For Irrigation Work In Dubai, The first component on which it is worth going into detail is the duct or piping: although it is an element that is often taken for granted, it allows the water that the motor-pump sends under pressure to the system to be distributed to the sprinklers.
Almost all of these pipes are made of plastic material (polyethylene or PE) and vary in section diameter (measured in cm or in inches) and in pressure supported.
The diameter to be used can be obtained from the system design while as regards the pressure we will choose low density pipes, generally suitable for the modest pressures of a domestic system; only in the case of particular specifications or particular works will we choose high-density pipelines to bring water at high pressures (large residential systems, public works, specifications required by law, etc. ..).
By means of joints, joints and various small parts we will be able to connect the pipes so that they connect the delivery to the sprinklers.
Two types of sprinklers are used:
Static sprinklers: intended for small areas, they are approximately placed at a distance of 3-5 meters from each other.
Turbine sprinklers: suitable for larger surfaces (8 × 8 meters or more), they are placed 8-12 meters from each other.
Obviously the former will have shorter ranges (suitable for small areas of the garden) while the second type of sprinkler is well suited to more open areas where working with static models would mean laying a large amount of elements to ensure uniform wetting of the turf.
Within these two macro-families there are different models and accessories that can adapt the behavior of the sprinklers to our needs: for example, it is possible to adjust the quantity of water distributed in the unit of time or the working angle (useful if we have to position ourselves in a corner of the garden where you only need to wet a 90 ° arc, or on the edge of a walkway, in which case we will work on 180 ° instead of 360 °).
Visit our shop in the irrigation and plumbing material section! If you want to learn more about the subject, I recommend that you visit the Hunter brand website, a leading company on the global market and official supplier of Vivai le Georgiche. On the site you can download a simple and comprehensive guide for installing a do-it-yourself irrigation system.
We always recommend using professional materials without giving in to the illusion of relative savings: irrigation systems have a lifespan of tens of years, which is why it is advisable to invest in the good quality of the products avoiding having to destroy the lawn to make uncomfortable and expensive replacements in future.
All Hunter products are on sale at the store and will soon be available for purchase in our new online nursery as well.

In the next post dedicated to irrigation we will talk about drip irrigation, control units and solenoid valves.
